Tran Quoc Pagoda is located on Gold Fish Island, the only island in Hanoi's West Lake. It was built during the reign of Emperor Li Nam from 544 to 548 AD and was originally named Kai Quoc Pagoda. This temple is closely related to the birth of Vietnam’s first state, Van Xuan Kingdom. With its long history, Tran Quoc Temple became the capital of Buddhism during the Ly Tran period and is regarded as a place of interest in the former Thang Long city and today's capital Hanoi.

Early in the morning, many Buddhists and domestic and foreign tourists come to Zhenguo Temple to worship Buddha and enjoy the scenery, hoping that they can cultivate their souls in emptiness and purity. Everyone may come here for different reasons, but they all revere Buddhism, admire the architectural and historical value of the temple, and find inner peace.

Tran Quoc Temple is regarded as the Buddhist center of Thang Long Capital City. It has an advantageous geographical location, outstanding cultural value and unique architectural form. Tran Quoc Temple is one of the representative buildings of Vietnamese temples. Upon entering, the first thing you see is the beautifully patterned mountain gate. The Zhenguo Temple plaque stands majestically in front of the temple, making everyone who comes here to worship Buddha and enjoy the scenery feel at peace. After entering the mountain gate, follow a path to the worship hall and main hall. The entire space is elegant and solemn. Walking along the road, you will see solemn buildings and very delicate auspicious cloud patterns carved on the stone carvings. This is a unique pattern from the Li Dynasty.

Like other temples in Vietnam, Tran Quoc Temple was built according to the strict rules and principles of Buddhism. Since its first construction, the temple has been repaired many times, and its building plan is in the shape of "work". The Buddha statues in the main hall are placed from high to low. Of particular note is the recumbent statue of Sakyamuni Buddha in Nirvana in the main hall. The carving process of this Buddha statue reflects its unique artistic value.

It is a sacred and pure Buddhist center, and it is also a scenic spot that ignites romance in the West Lake waterfront space.
