The ancient capital of Hualu was the capital of the Ding, Qianli and Li dynasties. The leader of the Din tribe put down the rebellion of the Twelve Envoys, established the Din Dynasty in 968 and proclaimed himself emperor. The country was named Da Quyue and the capital was moved to Hua Lu (now Hua Lu County, Ninh Binh Province).
The capital uses high mountains as fortresses and surrounding rivers as moats. Therefore, the enemy can be defeated when attacking and the soldiers can maintain their strength when defending. As a result, Hualu became the center of power in the feudal state of Quyue.
By the time of Li Taizu, Li Taizu realized that the capital of Hualu was narrow, difficult to expand the city, and did not match the status of the country at that time, so he made the historic decision to move the capital. Thang Long Imperial City was the new capital chosen by Li Taizu.
Li Taizu's decision made Hualu the ancient capital. Although subsequent emperors no longer lived here, ancestral halls, temples and other solid buildings were still built in the ancient capital of Hualu, which have been preserved to this day.
Nowadays, although the ancient capital of Hua Lu cannot be well preserved, it has been replaced by two famous buildings built by the ancients on the basis of the ancient capital of Hua Lu, namely the Temple of Emperor Dinh Xian and the Temple of Emperor Le Da Hang Emperor, which contain many national treasures and have been preserved. Associated with Hualu traditional festivals. The Temple of Emperor Dinh Xian and the Temple of Emperor Dinh Xian are about 500 meters apart. Due to the close distance, tourists often refer to the "ancient capital of Hualu" as "Emperor Dinh-Le Emperor Temple".
Driving about 100 kilometers from Hanoi and only about two hours' drive, tourists can visit famous attractions such as Pei Nguyen-Trang An, Tam Coc Bich Cave, and the Flame Stone Church.
