The terrain of Phong Nha Gaiban National Park was formed about 4 billion years ago in the Paleozoic Era and is the oldest karst landform in Asia. Because of the tremendous changes in crustal movement over hundreds of millions of years, the karst landforms in the national park have formed various landforms on the surface. Fengya-Gaiban is well-deserved to be called a natural geological museum with global value because of its complex geographical structure and collection of various rocks, such as drop rocks, quartz stone, schist rock, siliceous limestone, granite, and diorite. , aplite, pegmatite.
Feng Nha Cave is nearly 8 kilometers long and is the cave with the longest underground river in the world. Tourists take a boat along the Dan River to enter Fengya Cave. The Dan River is about 35 to 40 meters wide. The water is green and the bottom is clearly visible. You can clearly see the fish swimming in the river. The temperature in Fengya Cave is cool and suitable. It is not cold in winter. During the hottest time in summer, the temperature in the cave is only 17 to 19 degrees. Take a boat ride through the underground river and admire the majestic cave scenes.
There are two main entrances and exits to the cave: the Tiandong entrance, which is 200 meters above the ground; and the Shuidong entrance, which is the outlet of an underground stream that flows into the Rouge River. When tourists enter the cave, they usually take a boat up the river and enter through the entrance of the water cave. The water cave door is like a whale's mouth, and the stalactites hanging down from a high place are like whale teeth; the door is about 10 meters high and more than 20 meters wide.
The water in the cave is dark in color and the stream in the cave is clear. The scenery in the cave is wonderful. Some of the stone walls on both sides are colorful, and the stalactites are bizarre. Stars appear like giant statues, lions, phoenixes, unicorns, immortals Yiqi, Qionglou and Yuyu, etc.; some stalactites are stacked on top of each other to form a stone forest. Beautiful scenery; some are shaped like depressions with towering stone walls around them, like entering a deep valley; there are also sounds made by water droplets dripping from the rock walls and water waves hitting the rocky shore, intertwined into natural music.
After visiting Fengya Cave, tourists usually visit Xianshan Cave. There is no water in Xianshan Cave, which is just above Fengya Cave and is 980 meters long. The scenery from Fengya Cave to Xianshan Cave is very beautiful. You can see the quiet mountain villages shrouded in mist all around. However, the road is a bit difficult to walk and you need to move forward on the rugged mountain roads in the mountains.
Paradise Cave in Quang Binh Province, known as the "Underground Palace", is the longest dry cave in Asia, with a total length of 31.4 kilometers, a width of 30 to 150 meters, and a height of about 60 meters. Because there is a river in the cave, its temperature is high, and the stalactites in the dark cave are covered with a thick layer of moss, adding to its mystery.
