Gourmet features
In the early 19th century, the French brought baguettes and many delicious hot breads to Saigon to satisfy the needs of the upper class and established the first brick-and-mortar bakery in Vietnam.
Initially, cakes were also served in a Western style, with cold meats on a plate and complete with knives and forks. But then seeing that not everyone had time to sit back and relax, people came up with a way to sandwich the meat, pork rolls and pâté in the middle of a loaf of bread for buyers to take.
Over time, the bread has appeared in all regions and has been Vietnameseized to satisfy a variety of eaters. Not only that, it has become everyone's "national" fast food because of its wide variety, convenience, and most importantly, very cheap price.
The most popular version of banh mi has a filling consisting of pate made from pork liver, pork rolls, chopped carrots and kimchi, cilantro (cilantro), sauce and a few other ingredients. Guests will also find barbecue sandwiches. The crispy texture of the crust and the fresh ingredients of the filling will give diners an unforgettable experience.
