Hue Capital City completes reconstruction of Jianzhong Temple
The reconstruction work of the Jianzhong Temple in the Forbidden City area of Hue started in February 2019. It is currently completed and guests are allowed to visit. The reconstruction work of Jianzhong Temple is of great significance to the protection and promotion of the value of Hue Ancient Capital Ruins Group, a world cultural heritage.
The central hall was built in 1921 and completed in 1923. This is the working and living place of two Nguyen dynasty emperors (Kay Thuy and Bao Dai). In 1947, due to the impact of the war, almost all of the Jianzhong Temple was destroyed and turned into ruins.
The central hall brings together architectural styles from Indochina, Asia and Europe. This is a quite unique engineering project and a symbol of Hue's traditional palace architecture.
The highlight of the nave is its unique texture and pattern on the outside, which is inlaid with porcelain of many different colors and has rich decorative themes. At present, about 80% of the porcelain inlay work has been completed, and many skilled private craftsmen are involved in the reconstruction work.
Once completed, the construction of the Truong Pavilion will provide a new and attractive destination for domestic and foreign tourists visiting the Royal Palace in Hue.
Thirty years since it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO in 1993, Hue’s ancient capital ruins have passed the emergency rescue stage and entered a stage of stable and sustainable development. Currently, the Hue Ancient Capital Heritage Conservation Center is studying and improving the archives to implement the restoration project of Can Zheng Hall and the Grand Palace Gate in the Royal Palace of Hue, gradually restoring the appearance of each important palace, and preserving an ancient and magnificent Hue for current and future generations. castle.
