Hoi An, Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, is rated as one of the most beautiful seaside cities in the world
In a list of the nine most beautiful seaside cities in the world released by the South China Morning Post, Hong Kong's major English-language newspaper, Hoi An Ancient Town in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, ranked fifth.
The nine most beautiful seaside cities selected by the newspaper include Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Mumbai (India), Brighton (UK), Barcelona (Spain), Hoi An (Vietnam), Sydney (Australia), Miami (USA), Sanya (China), Athens (Greece).
According to the South China Morning Post, these cities meet the demand for beach vacations, shopping, museum visits, beach sports and other services.
Among them, Hoi An is a beautiful city in central Vietnam. The unique buildings in the ancient streets here are the intersection of multiple cultures, including Chinese architectural style wooden houses and French colonial buildings. Hoi An Ancient Town was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.
From the 17th to the 18th century, Hoi An was an international commercial port where large merchant ships from Japan, China, the Netherlands, Spain, India and other countries frequently entered and exited. Previously, it was an important stop on the Maritime Silk Road.
