Hue Festival Autumn Festival 2023: Promoting Hue Culture

With the theme of "Autumn in Hue", the Autumn Festival, one of the four major events of the Hue Festival 2023, was held in Hue City and Thua Thien-Hue Province, during which a number of interesting and exciting activities were held. At the opening ceremony with the theme of "Hue Ao Dai - River Storytelling", in addition to unique art performances, hundreds of Ao Dai designs designed by Vietnamese Ao Dai designers were also displayed. Tran Quang Hoa, an Aodai designer from Thua Thien Hue Province, shared: "In this event, we introduced two series, one is the flowing water of the Hong Kong River, with the shadow of the ancient capital of Hue. The other is the fusion of Western modern style and Vietnamese culture . The presentations of both series were carefully rehearsed by the program team, reflecting the heritage of Ao Dai in various periods."

Ao Dai is a unique cultural heritage of the ancient capital of Hue. Within the framework of the Autumn Festival, a party called "Wind Coat Swallow" was held to promote Hue's traditional Ao dai party. The unique Ao Dai and handicrafts designed by designers and craftsmen from traditional handicraft villages gave the audience an unforgettable impression of Hue. Visitors will be able to admire Ao Dai series designed by famous designers, such as "Jin Ming Ming Crane" by designer Chen Shanqing. This series uses the image of the crane as its theme to express the pure and noble beauty of Vietnamese women; the traditional five-body Ao Dai designed by designer Chen Hongguang uses denim as the fabric and the hand-woven patterns of ethnic minorities in the northwest region, bringing a new feeling. Designer Fan Wenxuan brought an Ao dai series called "Return to the Ancient Capital II". He shared: "I believe that if Vietnamese Ao dai wants to develop, it must have standards, which is to inherit the tradition and keep pace with the times. I What I want to convey is the message that Vietnamese Ao Dai has been passed down for centuries. Wherever there are Ao Dai, there are Vietnamese people."

Another event promoting Hue Ao dai and Vietnamese Ao dai is the “Hue Community Ao dai Week”, which is held at the Dinh Liang Dinh site in Hue City. On this occasion, many activities were held from July 6 to 12, such as organizing hundreds of cultural tourism cadres, artists, and citizens in Hue City to wear traditional Ao Dai and ride bicycles on the streets. Hue Community Ao Dai Week aims to promote Hue culture, especially to achieve the goal of turning Hue City into the capital of Ao dai.
